Where the CAPEA6030C3 fits

The CAPEA6030C3 is a 5 ton (60,000 BTU) cased A-coil for an upflow or downflow furnace or air handler. It runs on R-32 and arrives with an electronic expansion valve (EEV) built in, so there is no metering kit to buy separately. The cabinet measures 21 inches wide by 30 inches high and 21 inches deep.

Three things decide whether this is the right coil for your job. Capacity first: match it to a 5 ton outdoor unit, because an evaporator that is a size off the condenser costs you both efficiency and dehumidification. Refrigerant second: this is an R-32 coil and belongs on an R-32 condenser or heat pump, not on an older R-410A system. Cabinet third: a 21 inch cabinet has to sit on a 21 inch furnace. The same coil is built in 14, 17-1/2, 21 and 24-1/2 inch widths, and the wrong one will not seal to the plenum. One more note on the metering device: the EEV is what Goodman pairs with its inverter and variable-capacity outdoor units. If your condenser is single-stage, the TXV version of this coil is usually the correct match instead.
