Print this page and keep it near the door until your freight shows up. It takes about ten minutes to go through, and those ten minutes are what protect you if a carton got knocked around on the way.
Before the truck comes
- ☐ Answer calls from numbers you don’t know. The freight carrier will call to schedule delivery.
- ☐ Pick a delivery window when an adult can be home to sign.
- ☐ Clear a path from the street to where the equipment will sit. Move cars, trash cans and hoses.
- ☐ Line up at least one helper.
- ☐ Have a hand truck or appliance dolly ready.
- ☐ Keep a box cutter or scissors handy for banding and wrap.
- ☐ Charge your phone for photos.
- ☐ Pull up your order confirmation so you know how many pieces to expect.
- ☐ If your installer is receiving the shipment, send them this list.
When the truck arrives
- ☐ Expect a curbside drop. The driver generally unloads at the curb or end of the driveway, not inside.
- ☐ Count every piece. Compare the count to the delivery receipt.
- ☐ Walk all the way around each carton. Look for crushed corners, holes, tears or oil.
- ☐ Check that upright units are still upright and the packaging isn’t caved in.
- ☐ If anything looks wrong, write it on the delivery receipt BEFORE you sign. Be specific, for example “damaged carton,” “unit on its side” or “2 of 3 pieces received.”
- ☐ Take photos of any damage, the shipping labels and the signed receipt.
- ☐ Sign, and keep your copy of the receipt.
Right after delivery
- ☐ Found a problem? Call (877) 843-4822 or email Info@BuyComfortDirect.com right away so we can open a carrier claim.
- ☐ Send us your photos and the signed receipt.
- ☐ Leave damaged equipment in its packaging until we tell you what’s next.
- ☐ Move the equipment somewhere dry and safe until your contractor installs it.
- ☐ File your invoice with the receipt. You’ll want it for warranty registration later.
Picking up at our warehouse instead
- ☐ At checkout, choose Pickup and enter the date and time you’ll come. Give us at least 24 hours’ notice.

- ☐ Bring a vehicle or trailer that can carry the size and weight, plus straps.
