Who we are
Buy Comfort Direct is a Georgia HVAC company. We’ve been in the business since 1995, and we work out of our own warehouse in Winder, Georgia. When you call (877) 843-4822 or start a live chat on the site, you’re talking to people who work here, not a call center.
What we sell
We focus on a short list of brands we know well:

- MRCOOL
- Solace, our own brand. Solace systems run on R-32 and carry a 10-year parts and compressor warranty.
You’ll find air conditioners, heat pumps, gas furnaces, air handlers, coils, package units, ductless mini splits, parts, supplies and tools. A lot of shoppers start with a complete matched system, like an AC with a furnace and coil, a heat pump with an air handler, or a dual fuel setup.
We don’t install. We sell the equipment, and you hire the licensed HVAC contractor of your choice.
What to compare when you shop online for HVAC
Whoever you buy from, these are the questions we’d ask.
Does the store sell matched systems?
The indoor and outdoor pieces should be designed to work together. Buying them as a matched set saves you from a combination that underperforms or causes warranty headaches. Our system selector walks you through it.
Will it stop you from buying the wrong efficiency for your region?
Federal efficiency rules for split systems depend on your DOE region. Our checkout blocks split-system equipment that can’t be installed where you live.
How does freight delivery work?
Big equipment arrives on an LTL truck. Ask how scheduling works and what to do if something arrives damaged. With us, the carrier calls to schedule, and you inspect and note any damage before signing. Our freight delivery page explains it, and shipping is free on orders over $99. You can also pick up at our Winder warehouse by choosing Pickup at checkout with at least 24 hours’ notice.
What’s the return policy, really?
Read it before you buy, not after. Ours: request a return within 30 days of delivery, items must be new and uninstalled in the original unopened packaging, you’ll need a Return Authorization number, and there’s a 15% restocking fee. Opened or installed equipment, special orders and Clearance or Overstock items can’t come back. The full policy is on our shipping and returns page.
Can you reach a person?
Call before you order and see who picks up. It tells you a lot about what happens if you ever need help.
How can you pay?
We take financing through Affirm and PayPal, subject to approval. See financing. We also have a price match guarantee.
Is the warranty explained clearly?
The manufacturer backs the warranty, but a good seller tells you what registration it needs and helps when something goes wrong. Ours is laid out on our warranty page.
How an order works with us
- Pick a system with the system selector, or call and we’ll help you narrow it down.
- Add it to your cart. On Goodman equipment, that’s where you’ll see your price.
- At checkout, we’ll flag any split-system equipment that can’t be installed in your DOE region.
- Choose delivery or warehouse pickup. Freight customers get a call from the carrier to schedule.
- Inspect every carton before you sign, and call us right away if something’s wrong.
- Have a licensed contractor install it, then register the warranty with the manufacturer.
