About the 14WIRE250

Where the 14WIRE250 fits

Ductless mini-split components only work in the combinations the manufacturer lists: an indoor head has to match the outdoor unit’s series and capacity, and multi-zone outdoor units have a fixed menu of indoor sizes they support. The 14WIRE250 is one piece of that pairing, so confirm the matching part number before ordering.

Ductless systems shine where there is no ductwork to reuse — additions, converted garages, bonus rooms, older homes — and where room-by-room control matters. Each indoor head is its own zone with its own remote or thermostat, and the outdoor unit modulates to whatever the active heads are calling for.

What to check before you order

• Indoor and outdoor model numbers are a listed pairing (same series, compatible capacity).
• Voltage: 115 V versus 208/230 V — it changes the circuit you need.
• Line set length and lift within the unit’s limits; pre-charged versus field-charged.
• Mounting: wall, ceiling cassette, floor console or ducted.

Installation and service notes

Indoor heads mount high on an exterior or interior wall with a slight slope toward the condensate drain, and the line set, control wire and drain run through a single wall sleeve to the outdoor unit. Flare joints need the correct torque and a leak check; field-charged systems need a vacuum and a weighed charge adjusted for line length. Keep the outdoor unit clear of snow drift and dryer exhaust.
